MEDICAL EXPENSES
Living with myasthenia gravis is often expensive, but resources are available to help. This email highlights programs that help cover medical expenses, assistive devices, and even college scholarships for qualifying individuals.

Accessia Health’s Myasthenia Gravis Financial Assistance Program is active and accepting applications.
Funds can be used across four categories: insurance premiums, medication copays, travel (maximum of $500), and other medical expenses. Apply online or by calling 1-800-366-7741.
Who is eligible: individuals with a myasthenia gravis diagnosis whose household income is not greater than 500% of the federal poverty limit. Other criteria may apply.
Through Patient Advocate Foundation’s TotalAssist program, people living with myasthenia gravis may be eligible to receive a grant to help pay for their out-of-pocket healthcare costs. These include medication copays, office visit charges on the day of treatment, and insurance co-pays, among others.
Who is eligible: U.S. legal residents with a myasthenia gravis diagnosis whose household income is not greater than 500% of the federal poverty limit and have government-insured coverage (Medicaid, Medicare, or military benefits) for your qualifying expenses. Other criteria may apply.
The Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to cover costs not paid by insurance. This includes copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and other health-related expenses, such as travel costs to receive treatment.
Who is eligible: U.S. legal residents with a myasthenia gravis diagnosis who are currently prescribed an FDA-approved treatment for MG. Other criteria, including income eligibility, also apply.
NORD Rare Care Program provides financial assistance for insurance premiums, co-pays, and other out-of-pocket costs.
Who is eligible: U.S. legal residents who meet certain income eligibility criteria. There are funds for individuals diagnosed with myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS).
ACCESSIBILITY ACCOMODATIONS
MDA’s Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Grant Program helps you access essential equipment that supports greater independence, safety, and everyday mobility. Durable medical equipment refers to items like wheelchairs, lifts, canes, and other tools that support daily living. These devices are built for long-term use and play a vital role in helping people manage mobility, health, and quality of life.
Who is eligible: U.S. legal residents with a myasthenia gravis diagnosis. Other criteria may apply.
EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Did you know there are scholarships to help people with MG and their families achieve their educational goals?
UCB Myasthenia Gravis Scholarship helps people living with myasthenia gravis or their immediate family members to pursue further education through $10,000 scholarships. Recently, UCB announced the recipients of the 2026 UCB Myasthenia Gravis Scholarship. Learn more about these scholars and the program requirements.
MDA College Scholarship Program supports students living with neuromuscular disease as they pursue their academic dreams. This is a merit-based scholarship of up to $5,000 annually open to full-time, undergraduate students.
EveryLife Foundation #RAREis Scholarship Fund provides scholarships of up to $5,000 and is open to all those diagnosed with a rare disease. Both full and part-time, undergraduate or graduate students are eligible.
